Before the air from the compressor goes to the actuating thing, it goes through different holes in the valves. If dirty and wet particles get into the compressed air, it could cause problems and stop the components from working properly. So, a device called a compressed air filter is put in place to take out harmful dirt and particles before the compressed air goes into the control circuit.

Dirty air can damage machines. Machines use compressed air. The air compressor needs to filter out impurities to keep the air clean. If the air isn't clean, solid dust particles and rust from the pipes can get into the machines. These impurities can cause problems by getting stuck in certain parts of the machines. Furthermore, the air that goes into the machine is squished and built up with pressure. After that, it is sent out through a cooler and a container where it is saved. When it gets colder, the extra water in the air falls down as rain or snow. Some liquid turns into gas when an engine heats up. This water can damage the engine if it gets inside the different parts, making them rusty and corroded or washing away the oil that keeps everything moving smoothly. Compressed air has bad oil mist that can stick to moving parts and make a dirty buildup. This causes problems and stops the machine from working right.

Air filters clean compressed air and make sure machines using air work better. Usually, power circuits have common valves and devices called actuators. These need filters that use both spinning and cleaning to work properly. To get rid of oil mist completely, use an oil mist filter. To stop pollution, especially from big engines that release oil into the air, we need to use a filter to clean the oil mist. Filters can be used in medicine, food, and other times when we need to clean the air by taking out bacteria and bad smells.
